Chakra is Sanskrit for wheel, and refers to the vortices of energy in our inner bodies (etheric, astral, mental) that connect our inner perceptions and our physical senses. When purified in an evolved being, they can enable fine vibrational inputs from higher realms. However, when undeveloped or not purified, they can be unfiltered doorways to the worlds of lower energy amalgamations and the illogical contortions of reason and belief created by mischievous spirits or even by dark entities who work against evolution’s grace. This is why not all intuitive perceptions are true and of a higher light.
Note that the heart chakra is not the same as the heart spoken of in these teachings.
